Conway's Alaskan Klondike Gold All Purpose Seasoning
Thank you for visiting our Alaskan Klondike Gold Seasoning website. On our website, we wish to share with you how the "Conway's Alaskan Klondike Gold Seasoning" came to be and the health benefits you get when using the "Gold" along with your other favorite spices or by it's self on your favorite meats and vegetable dishes.

We hope you will come to enjoy the unique flavor and aroma of our special Alaskan seasoning and share it with your friends as a new seasoning just out on the market.  We have not come to that point where we are mass producing our seasoning, so you probably won't see any ads too soon telling the world how great our spice really is.  But, if you would like to know more about how Alaskan Klondike Gold came to be, just read on:

In 1990, Alaskan Outdoor Sportsman, Mark Conway began to mix together a blend of herbs and spices which he was looking for to enhance the taste of wild fish and game in Alaska.  The secret was to put the entire ingredients all down in writing before he forgot what was in the seasoning recipe.  (I want you to know, many a nights sleep was interrupted by waning thoughts drifting by in a dream as to what other flavors might add more taste in this seasoning.)

As the seasoning recipe began to come into it's own as a unique flavor enhancer for fish and wild game, Mark began to use it Bar-B-Queing steaks, chicken and other delicious meats.   Mark's biggest discovery with the Alaskan Klondike Gold was with fresh Corn on the Cob. "You can't find a better seasoning to put on that hot ear of fresh sweet corn right off the grill, dipped in hot butter and peppered with Alaskan Klondike Gold," Mark shares.

When all was said and done, Conway Married his Namibian Sweetsikie in 2000.  When he first introduced his concoction of seasoning to Maryna Maritz, she said,"Hmm, needs a little more paprika."  "Paprika?" Mark exclaimed!  "Yes," Maryna coached, " don't you know in South Africa we are the King of Brie (BBQ) cooking! You need more paprika in the recipe if you want me to enjoy your seasoning."

And so it was.  After trying a little more paprika, then a little more, and then a little more, Maryna was finally satisfied at the flavor that Mark's Alaskan Seasoning recipe reveiled.  Now, We could have called our all seasoning, "Conway's Alaskan/African Klondike Gold Seasoning," but that might have confused a few people, so, we left it at "Conway's Alaskan Klondike Gold Seasoning" because that's a mouthful in itself.  Since 2000, the seasoning ingredient changed quite a lot, as you might imagine with two instead of one at the mixing bowl.  But, finally, Maryna and I came to an agreement on what our final "secret recipe" would be and we have stuck to it ever since.

Our seasoning's popularity came exclusively with shore side meals Mark shared with his clients on guided fly fishing trips here in South Central Alaska.  Mark has been a fly fishing guide service that goes back as early as 1985 when all this started, that's mixing the herbs and spices for an all purpose seasoning.  Mark says,"You have to have your own seasoning if your going to cook fresh salmon for your clients out in the bush.  Even if you just add a little dill weed or chili powder to someone's seasoning."

As Mark's clients dug into mouthwatering fresh salmon or trout with the Alaskan Klondike Gold Seasoning on it, they would get this funny look on their faces.  Then he would hear,"What is this seasoning?"  (I always had a fresh bottle along with me that I would open for their fishing trip meal.)  I would put it on the meat and then the fresh green beans or potato and then sprinkle it on their tossed green salad.  By the time my clients were finished eating, all you could hear them say was just how great the seasoning tasted with the fish and veggies.  Course I would give the bottle to the client and tell them to keep it a secret.

The secret was out of the bag though as soon as they got home, but then, that's what I intended.  Thanks to the Lord, it's hard to keep a good secret, especially when it taste so good!  Orders for cases of seasoning are coming in all the time.  Even my own family keep me mixing up batches to give out as gifts.

My greatest joy is to say that "All things Work unto good for those who Love the Lord and live according to His plans."  If we put the Lord first in our lives, everything will turn out for good, EVERYTHING!

When you just think about how short our lives really are here on this earth compared to eternity,  you can't help but wonder who started it all and what we are all for.

Maryna and I put our faith first in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We do all we can to share His awesome Love with everyone we meet.  This Alaskan Klondike Gold Seasoning is not ours.  It belongs to the Lord.  "All good things come from God, from above." No man can say that "He" did it all by himself/herself, I'm sorry, I don't think human's were created to be that intelligent.  Nothing just comes to someone without it first coming from some one or some where else.  It's like the rain, or the snow.  It all comes from above. Without the rain or snow, no one would be here to know any different.
